MAGAZINE DESIGN

As Art Director at SMB Publishing, I led a small team of designers creating editorial and advertising design for award-winning publications including Yellow Scene Magazine (YS), Home & Hood Magazine and Brides & Babies Magazine. During my tenure, YS circulation grew from 48,000 to 72,000 and increased page count by about 40%. The two additional titles were added, and we expanded our services with an in-house design agency. The publication celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020, and I was featured as one of the key staff who helped them reach this milestone.

Collaborating with some brilliant writers and photographers, I produced some of my favorite work of my career. Designing for a regional publication offered an incredible variety of subjects and creative freedom. I’ve designed for just about every topic – from education, local politics and architecture to entertainment, food and fashion.
